James Martin Manchester

Welcome to James Martin Manchester, a fine dining destination tucked inside the Great Northern Warehouse on Watson Street, where modern British cuisine meets the flair of celebrity chef expertise. This restaurant offers a blend of sophistication and warmth, making it an ideal choice for everything from a special night out to an indulgent meal before heading to a show.

The menu reflects James Martin’s signature style—rooted in fresh, seasonal, and locally sourced ingredients. Diners can enjoy carefully crafted dishes that balance tradition with innovation, whether it’s slow-cooked meats, delicate fish courses, or decadent vegetarian options. Highlights often include dry-aged steaks, perfectly seared scallops, and rich desserts that show off the team’s technical skill. For those seeking variety, the tasting menus with paired wines provide a curated journey through the best the kitchen has to offer.

The atmosphere is every bit as memorable as the food. With its exposed brick walls, high ceilings, and ambient lighting, the dining room combines industrial chic with elegance, offering a space that feels both stylish and inviting. The open kitchen adds a touch of theatre to the experience, allowing guests to glimpse the chefs at work.

Reviews consistently praise not only the quality of the dishes but also the attentive and knowledgeable service. Staff are on hand to recommend wine pairings, explain elements of the menu, and ensure every detail is taken care of. Guests often remark that while it carries the name of a renowned chef, the restaurant delivers on substance as much as it does on reputation.

For those looking for standout dining in Manchester, James Martin Manchester is a location where expertise, creativity, and hospitality come together. Whether it’s a celebration dinner, a date night, or simply the chance to enjoy beautifully prepared British cuisine, it’s a place that leaves a lasting impression.

We had the absolute pleasure of being looked after by Bee at James Martin—and what an experience it was! From the moment we sat down to the very last goodbye, Bee was nothing short of exceptional. We were a lively bunch, to say the least—laughing, chatting, maybe even a little too loud at times—but Bee took it all in her stride. Not only was she completely unphased, but she leaned into the energy of the evening and somehow managed to elevate it even more. She kept us entertained all night, engaging with every single person around the table like we were old friends. By the end of the evening, Bee wasn’t just our server—she was the life and soul of our party. Her energy, humour, and charm made our night truly unforgettable. It’s rare to find someone who can make you feel so welcomed, seen, and celebrated. Thank you, Bee, for going above and beyond. You’re a credit to James Martin and the reason we’ll be recommending it to everyone we know.

Alex was a wonderful server, very professional and attentive. The food was fantastic, Chef Ayisha is incredibly talented. Amine took time to check in on every table, a very welcoming and friendly manager. Team couldn’t do more. Will be back very soon.

This Sunday at 1:00 PM, my wife and I enjoyed a fantastic meal at James Martin Manchester. From the moment we arrived, the restaurant impressed us—beautifully laid out with plenty of space between tables, creating a relaxed and comfortable atmosphere. Service was impeccable—prompt, polite, and professional. To start, we had the soup, followed by a classic Sunday roast for my wife and a delicious vegetarian pithivier for me. We wrapped up the meal with a coffee, and the entire experience was excellent. With the bill coming in at under £100, it was fantastic value for the quality of food and service. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a great Sunday dining experience in Manchester!

Took my mum the week before Mothers Day for an early treat as she was in town for the Theatre. We were looked after by Melody who was brilliant, she was so attentive and friendly a true credit to James Martin Manchester. As it was Sunday we had the Sunday Roast Menu, I started with the Mushrooms and they were delicious and a great size portion for a starter. We both had the Roast Beef for main, this was delicious and melt in the mouth beef cooked pink and was just perfectly cooked. The veg were tasty and the gravy was delicious! For desert was had a a sticky toffee pudding and the bread and butter pudding both were delicious. After 3 courses I felt comfortably full and we both left very happy. The venue location is great a nice space with a good atmosphere, comfortable furniture and just all round a great experience. We will be back in future for sure!

We shared an evening with James. The food was great and the wine was great, service was good. Was a little disappointed he said he would come down to the bar we waited quite a while but he sat up in the restaurant with two ladies chatting with them. But we had a great night something the wife had wanted to do for a long time.
